Alltech Group Makes Joint Decision with Management Company SN-Neftegaz to Build LNG Plant to Utilize Gas Reserves of Kumzhinskoye and Korovinskoye Fields
05.28.10 13:20 | INFOLine, IA (based on company materials) | Advis.ru | After negotiations with potential partners and completion of a feasibility study for the project, the Alltech Group has made a joint decision with the Management Company SN-Neftegaz to build a liquefied natural gas plant to utilize the gas reserves of the Kumzhinskoye and Korovinskoye fields. It is anticipated that the complex will be constructed near the town of Indiga (Nenets Autonomous Okrug) in the ice-free section of the Barents Sea coast. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2011, and plans call for start-up of the plant in 2014-2015. The plant's products will be exported to users under long-term contracts. A project to create a gas chemical complex was considered initially. However, changing market conditions for gas chemical products and the emergence of new opportunities for independent operators in Russia to use LNG technologies forced the company to reconsider its plans.
The execution of the Pechora LNG project will make it possible to commercialize the natural gas reserves of the NAO, which have remained undeveloped up to now due to a lack of necessary infrastructure.
