Surgutneftegas to Invest 98 Billion Rubles in Talakan Field Development by 2011-2012
05.31.10 14:21 | RusEnergy | Advis.ru | A corporate publication of the company reports that Surgutneftegas, which ranks fourth in Russia in regard to oil production volume, plans to allocate 98 billion rubles to development of the Talakan Field in Eastern Siberia by 2011-2012.
Surgutneftegas plans to produce 2.5 million metric tons of oil at the Talakan and Alinskoye fields this year for delivery to the Eastern Siberia — Pacific Ocean (ESPO) Oil Pipeline.
Surgutneftegas has added new reserves of about 37 million tons of oil and 100 billion cubic meters of gas in Eastern Siberia in the last three years.
According to Vladimir Bogdanov, head of Surgutneftegas, the company plans to increase investment in 2010 by 9% over last year — to 118 billion rubles. Out of this amount, 28 billion rubles will be allocated to oil and gas processing, 20 billion rubles to geological exploration, and the rest to production. The deputy director general reported previously that the company will invest 900 billion rubles in Eastern Siberia by 2020.
Surgutneftegas plans to keep oil production at the 2009 level of 59.5 million metric tons in 2010. The company plans to invest in the development of four new fields this year: the Losevoye, Ovlikhlorskoye, Yavinlorskoye and Zapadno-Sukuryanskoye fields. A total of 1,176 new oil wells will be put into operation.
Surgutneftegas is the fourth-largest integrated oil company in Russia, with headquarters in Surgut. The operations of Surgutneftegas include exploration, surface construction and development of oil and gas fields, production and sale of oil and gas, and production and sale of petroleum and petrochemical products.
Authorized capital of Surgutneftegas is 43.4 billion rubles; 8.1% of the company stock belongs to the Surgutneftegas private pension fund, and 91.9% belongs to other stockholders.
The company's net income in 2009 according to Russian GAAP decreased to 113.873 billion rubles, a decrease of 20.88% compared to the previous year. Surgutneftegas discovered nine fields last year.
